When we consider what makes the best radiator design, we have to look at two aspects, the functional and the aesthetic. At the end of the day what makes a good aesthetic design is like many things, in the eye of the beholder. We all have our preferences in terms of style and image that influence what we want our homes to look like. There is a wide choice of designs available for Designer radiators so that we can all find a look that suits our interior and our budget.
On a practical level, a good radiator is one that delivers the right amount of heat in the space available for it. A radiator design that incorporates more surface area will produce more heat output than a comparable one with less, however, in some cases, you may need to compromise looks for output. Designs with single or double rows of tubes can give more choice as can vertical sizes that maximise the use of a roomâs height, especially where space is tight.
Material will also influence how effective a radiator is, Aluminium for example heats up and cools down quickly for excellent control and its properties mean it requires less water content than steel or cast Iron radiators.
The combination of material, surface area and aesthetic design contributes to the best design for each situation.
